I bought a Black Oranda which had a little gold under his belly. He has turned all gold. Is this normal?

Answers:
Yes, black is a very unstable color in goldfish.

Check this site out, http://www.kokosgoldfish.invisionzone.co.
It explains a way that someone has figured out how to keep black and sometimes get the black back.
yes
Unfortunately yes. Most black orandas and black moors will do this. There is no known way of restoring the original colour or slowing down the process, and nobody seems to know what causes it.
I know that a lot of ornamental pond fish change colour. Ask at your local Aquatic centre for advice about feeding - your fish may need something special.
For example, flamingos are pink because of their food, but without it, they revert to white.
yes all black orandas do this but they look very attractive as a gold fish aswell
It is normal and all goldfish, when born, are black. Some will retain this coloration and some will loose it when they begin to age. It is based largely on genetics.
It is not normal. I have a Black Oranda she has little gold on her belly to get is going to die soon.
I have been told by someone that breeds fish that the reason they turn gold is because they have no need to be camouflaged as they are not under threat and so feel comfortable and turn gold.
yes it is, you bought your fish as he was going through a color phase, nothing you could do to stop it
Yes it is, most fish start off black and the colouring comes as they mature.
