Answers:
76-80 degrees is best for tropical fish.

BPSKI:

"Most tropical fish should be kept in temperatures ranging from 75藲 F to 80藲 F (24藲 C to 27藲 C)." from http://www.indoorhealthproducts.com/prod.

"The ideal temperature for most freshwater tropical fish is be between 76 and 80 degrees F"
http://www.petstation.com/tropicalfishca.

"The ideal tank temperature for tropical fish is 75 - 80 F ( 24 - 26 C)"
http://www.aquatics-warehouse.co.uk/extr.

"72 - 82掳F"
http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?.

Shall I continue?
what you want is no lower than 72 and no higher than 76 in the middle will be best and they will live longer
Take a look at what fish you have http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/categ. and find out what temperature they require.
