we have two oscars and i just looked at the temp to the water and it said 72. is that to chilly for them ,it felt awful cool.
Answers:
I have 4 oscars, I keep the water between 74 %26 78. They are 2 years old and doing fine. Do not ever let your water get over 78, you will cook your fish. 72 is on the cool side, but won't hurt your fish.
uhhhh just the water do its thing it wont kill them or anything ! ! !

If it felt awfully cold then its too cold for them! try to get them warm water not to hott and not to cold
most freshwater tropical fish are comfortable at a temperature range of 78 to 82 degrees.
You're actually ok with that - just make sure the temp doesn't change more than 2 degrees every 12 hours, as this will stress them out. According to liveaquaria.com, oscars do best at 72-77 degrees.
