i am buying a 240litre tank could i keep a convict an oscar and maybe another fish or 2 in it,any ideas?
Answers:
Both convicts and oscars are South American cichlids and would probably be OK together. The convict would stay around the bottom areas and the oscar would spend most of his time in the mid area of the tank.
A few silver dollars (4-5) OR a school (5-6) of rainbows would add some movement to the upper area of the tank. These fish need to be in schools to stay stress free and healthy.
I had a cool tank and it was only a 45 gallon long. It had 3 oscars and 2 jack dempseys. Then I added 2 convicts to the end with a divider (gave them about a foot) and they had babies. :)
yes they should be fine just make sure they are about the same size they may fight a little but should be ok
