how to tell if your goldfish is female or male ?
Answers:
there is a site that explains how to figure out what type of goldfish you have a boy or girl.
"Sexing goldfish is very difficult before they reach maturity. Sometimes people can tell by looking at the shape of the vent. Females may have rounder convex vents while males have thinner concave vents. The pectoral fins of males may be rather thick and stiff (compared to those of female goldfish) and with a more pronounced outer ray. Some people also believe that male goldfish have longer pectoral fins that do female goldfish"
there is also more information at that site listed below
I have goldfish in my pond, and the males get these little white dots on their heads and fins. If your goldfish is male, he should get these. To tell if it is a female is harder. I've seen the goldfish breed and the males chase the females around and push on them, usually pushing them to the top of the pond. The female gets tired and just lets the males do it until they stop. If your goldfish is in a tank/bowl you probably won't be able to tell if it is female or male.
It doesn't really matter, since most goldfish are gay.
